A QUEST begins

This week marked the beginning of an additional position at the QUEST center of the Berlin Institute of Health of Charité Berlin.
At QUEST, I will focus on the translation of AI in healthcare as my main research topic.
AI in healthcare is promising. However, we currently produce many headlines and little tangible progress in the clinical setting.
This “translational gap” is the target of my research at QUEST, mainly how to improve it.
The translational chain in AI in healthcare spans (amongst others) questions of applied AI, reproducibility, ethics (e.g. bias and xAI), early academic acceleration, product development and funding. I am happy that I have many strong collaborators with whom I already do research on these topics.
